We have been using a synthetic cofactor analog of SAM, ProSeAM to analyze novel substrates of lysine methyltransferases and their biological functions. Recently, we have been using the same method to characterize protein methyltransferases other than lysine residue and their functions. In my talk slot, I would like to introduce recent advances in histidine methylation, as well as our laboratory’s findings on the regulation of histidine methylation and its biological functions.
