Jianlong Wang is a tenured full Professor in the Department of Medicine at Columbian University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Biology at Nankai University and earned his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, focusing on plant RNA virus-host interactions. His postdoctoral journey took him from the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at UNC-Chapel Hill to the Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School. Establishing his laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2009, Wang held a tenured professorship before joining Columbia Center for Human Development and Stem Cell Therapies (CCHD-CSCT) at CUIMC in 2019. Wang's laboratory has made significant contributions to our understanding of molecular control of stem cells and early development, manifested by his numerous publications in top-tier journals, including Nature, Nature Genetics, Cell Stem Cell, and Molecular Cell, etc., demonstrating the high impact of his work. His scientific excellence has been recognized with several awards, including the Harvard Stem Cell Institute Cell Development Award, the Irma T. Hirschl and Weil-Caulier Career Scientist Award, and the Harold and Golden Lamport Research Award.
