Kerry Martin Loomes is an associate professor at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He received his PhD in Chemistry from Massey University in Palmerston North in 1989. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and the University of Auckland from 1989 to 1996. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes. He serves on the editorial board of Frontiers in Endocrinology and as a reviewer for more than 10 journals such as Diabetes, Metabolism, Eur. Kerry Loomes has made original contributions in his research fields: metabolic diseases including diabetes, chronic kidney disease, etc. His research activities span diverse biological areas including metabolic and rare disease, drug discovery and natural product biochemistry.At the same time, Kerry Loomes has 8 years of experience in drug research and development, and some of his research has successfully obtained patent support.
