Weizhi Ji is currently an Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fellow of European Academy of Sciences, Professor and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Primate Biomedical Research. During the last three decades, Prof. Ji has been devoted to developing non-human primate disease models and to advance regenerative and developmental biology with the overarching aim to improve human health. His extensive research expertise lies in primate biomedical research, where he has made significant contributions in early embryo development regulation, stem cell pluripotency, and the development of gene editing monkey models for human diseases. He has established a world leading primate biomedical research platform encompassing cutting edge biotechnology ranging from in vitro fertilization, early embryonic development, gene editing to stem cell lines.
