Ralf Jauch is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong. He earned his PhD degree in 2005 at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen supervised by Herbert Jäckle. Next, Dr. Jauch joined the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR, where he spent seven years as a Research Scientist. From 2013 to 2018, he served as a Principal Investigator at the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Science, supported by a 100-talent award. During this time, he played a key role in establishing the GIBH-Max Planck Center for Regenerative Medicine, where he served as a Deputy Director. Dr. Jauch's research focuses on developing next-generation stem cell models to study and reverse aging and other human diseases. He combines structural analysis, genomics, and stem cell biology to uncover the regulatory programs that govern cell identities. His team has identified several engineered transcription factors that facilitate stem cell engineering. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles in diverse fields, including stem cell biology, structural biology, genomic sciences, and synthetic biology. Additionally, he holds several patents and is working on utilizing his findings at the Center for Translational Stem Cell Biology.
