Ilaria Piazza

Dr. Ilaria Piazza is a principal investigator leading the allosteric proteomics group at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz association. She is also an associate member of the Berlin Institute of Medical System Biology (BIMSB)

The group of Ilaria Piazza develops proteomics methods to characterise interactions between proteins and small molecules. 

She has been actively involved in translational projects in the field of chemoproteomics and drug discovery with a close partnership with the Swiss next-generation proteomics enterprise Biognosys.

 With her recently established research group, Dr. Piazza also works on the systematic analysis of protein structures with novel mass spectrometry technologies to characterize protein aggregates associated with neurodegenerative diseases.
